Business of BLC
BLC is a company that manufactures and distributes pharmaceutical products and other health-related products, including contract manufacturing services. This includes modern drugs, generic drugs, new generics, herbal medicines, veterinary medicines, cosmetics, dietary supplements, and other products. These are distributed by its subsidiaries to hospitals, pharmacies, and other customers.
BLC distributes its products through six main channels: hospitals, pharmacies, retail stores, exports, OEM, and e-commerce.
The main sales proportions of BLC come from pharmacies and hospitals, accounting for 54% and 37%, respectively (as of September 30, 2024).
Generic Drugs:
- Diabederm: A urea cream that treats dry skin conditions and increases moisture.
- Glucosa: A treatment for osteoarthritis in stick pack form.
- Gastro: A treatment for diarrhea caused by gastrointestinal inflammation and food poisoning.
Herbal Medicines:
- Capsika: A gel made from chili extract that relieves chronic muscle and joint pain, including osteoarthritis and neuropathic pain.
- KACHANA: A dietary supplement made from black ginger extract to increase oxygen in the bloodstream, act as an antioxidant, slow aging-related diseases, and enhance muscle strength.
- Plaivana: A cream containing plai oil extract that relieves sprains and body aches.
BLC holds a 0.65% market share domestically, with opportunities for growth in the pharmaceutical industry, which predominantly relies on imports.

Generic drugs and new generics.
Generic drugs: Drugs approved for registration after the original drugs patented before 1991 have expired.
New generics: Drugs approved for registration after the original drugs patented since 1991 have expired. These require bioequivalence (BE) studies in humans

- Drugs that are neither dangerous nor specially controlled (finished drugs).
Household remedies are drugs declared as such by the Minister. They are not categorized as dangerous drugs and can be purchased by the public for treating minor ailments.
Medical devices are products used for treatment or alongside medical equipment.
BLC conducts research and development to produce herbal-based drugs for treatment and relief. For example, the development of capsaicin from chili for pain relief. BLC is also the only company whose herbal products have received international certification.
These are substances administered to animals raised for human consumption or to animals that produce human food products. They aim to diagnose, treat, alleviate, prevent, or cure diseases.
Cosmetics are products applied to the skin or other parts of the body to clean or enhance beauty. They cannot treat, alleviate, or prevent diseases or have medicinal effects. However, they can effectively conceal blemishes and acne marks
Dietary supplements are consumed in addition to regular meals. These are primarily extracts from plants, animal parts, or synthetic enzymes that the human body cannot produce on its own. Dietary supplements cannot prevent, alleviate, or treat diseases but are consumed solely for nourishment.
